Pope Kissing Someone?

Pope's Kiss WallOf course the Vatican would react strongly with the ideas contained in an ad campaign by Italian clothing company Benetton that includes photos of Pope Benetictus XVI kissing.

It is the intention of the advertiser to invite all the inhabitants of the earth to make peace, how? Of course with kissing!

Ad campaign for peace is very great because there is a photo montage of Pope who kissed the lips of Sheikh Mohamed Ahmed el-Tayeb, the imam of Al-Azhar Mosque in Egypt. In addition to these two religious figures, Benetton also made photographs U.S. President Barack Obama and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez with a similar pose. Photo of Obama kissing with leaders of China, Hu Jintao, is equally “intimate” with a picture of German Prime Minister Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

They are very disappointed with the ad and very lamented, even though their refuge in freedom of expression, but it’s very offensive to the Vatican, “It shows a lack of respect for the Pope, hurt the feelings of believers, clearly demonstrates about how publicity can violate basic rules of respect people,” said Vatican spokesman, Federico Lombardi, Wednesday, November 16, 2011.

Great idea in its expression that can make sense in some quarters to be disturbed, though of course there is also a thought as a mere caricature, which may inspire everyone who witnessed it to think, “Why not?

The campaign is also found on the site “Unhate” Foundation made by Benetton is to invite people in the world to eliminate hatred against each other. Great!

Is this correct? UNHATE Foundation set up by Benetton also invites people in the world to upload their pictures in expressing anti-hatred.

If it’s true as the intention of the UNHATE Foundation, let’s go kissing someone. Oh …
