Call me Ishmael. Some years ago – never mind how long precisely – having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world. It is a way I have of driving off the spleen, and regulating the circulation.

Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before coffin warehouses, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people’s hats off – then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can.

This is my substitute for pistol and ball. With a philosophical flourish Cato throws himself upon his sword; I quietly take to the ship. There is nothing surprising in this. If they but knew it, almost all men in their degree, some time or other, cherish very nearly the same feelings towards the ocean with me.

Errors When Using a Condom

Even though it looks simple and trivial, not all men and women can always use a condom correctly when having sex. In fact, if used correctly, condoms can prevent pregnancy up to 98 percent and prevent sexually transmitted diseases.

Researchers from Indiana University in the United States has recently undertaken a review of 50 studies on condom use within the last 16 years. Research results found a list of common mistakes made when couples use condoms. The following is a list of 15 errors using condom as reported by MensHealth:

1. Late to use a condom

Research shows that between 17 to 51.1 percent of new men wear a rubber condom after having sex. This will certainly reduce the effectiveness of condom use, especially in preventing sexually transmitted diseases.

2. Take off the condom while still having sex

The findings show, between 13.6 to 44.7 percent of volunteers are involved in other research claimed to remove the condom before intercourse completion.

Sex Addiction for Real?

Sex addiction fuels movies and headlines, but despite this, writes Rachel Hills, it remains poorly understood.

If 2011 was the year of the Hollywood hook-up, with casual-sex flicks such as No Strings Attached and Friends with Benefits, 2012 seems set to be the year of the sex addict. Thursday sees the release of Shame, the critically acclaimed portrait of sex addiction starring actor Michael Fassbender. A recent Newsweek cover reported an “epidemic” of the condition, saying it was leaving a trail of destroyed marriages, careers and self-esteem in its wake. Then there is Thanks for Sharing, a new sex-addiction comedy starring Gwyneth Paltrow, due out later this year.

Sex addiction has been a media constant for several years now, thanks to serial philanderers such as Tiger Woods and Charlie Sheen. But the new breed of sex-addiction-fuelled pop culture is darker than its cynical predecessors, concerned with putting the condition on the map as a real and serious illness.

After reviewing 100 studies conducted over the past 60 years, experts have concluded that there is no evidence for the fabled centre of female sexual pleasure after all.

Research leader Dr Amichai Kilchevsky, a urologist from the Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut, blamed pornography, magazines and sex therapists for ruthlessly promoting the idea.

While he admitted the concept merited further attention and that ‘modern investigative techniques’ might help, he said he hoped his conclusion would take the pressure off couples who had not located it.

Is the World Ends in 2012?

If you are worried the world will end next year based on the Mayan calendar, relax: the end of time is still far off. So say Mayan experts who want to dispel any belief that the ancient Mayans predicted a world apocalypse in the year 2012.

The Mayan calendar marks the end of a 5,126 year old cycle around Dec. 12, 2012 which should bring the return of Bolon Yokte, a Mayan god associated with war and creation. Author Jose Arguelles called the date “the ending of time as we know it” in a 1987 book that spawned an army of Mayan theorists, whose speculations on a cataclysmic end abound online.

But specialists meeting at this ancient Mayan city in southern Mexico say it merely marks the termination of one period of creation and the beginning of another.

“We have to be clear about this. There is no prophecy for 2012,” said Erik Velasquez, an etchings specialist at the the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). “It’s a marketing fallacy.”

The World’s Thickness Lip

Kristina Rei, 22, apparently still not confident, in fact she is beautiful, but she wants to look better. Once in her opinion, her thin mouth and she decided to thicken her lips like her favorite cartoon character, Jessica Rabbit.
